* Just as an FYI for the canonblind, Yukina has no "official" age. All extrapolations come from the knowledge that her species reproduces every one hundred years. Given that a child of hers is never shown nor mentioned, we can only guess that she's yet to reach that milestone. personality
A very kind and soft-spoken individual, Yukina accepts most everyone. However, she can essentially shut down if something reminds her of the time she spent in captivity under a cruel human. Proceed at your own risk.
main character arc:
Perhaps the driving force behind Yukina's character is her search for her twin brother. It's (mostly, as there's an uglier aspect to her journey as well) the reason she came to the human world in the first place. As any twin would, she feels a part of her is missing when she doesn't know his whereabouts. Unbeknown to her, her brother is the same way. The reasoning behind Hiei's surgery that gave him his iconic third eye is so he can always look after her through psychic means. Canon implies that there is a deep connection between them and that by the end of the anime, Yukina is aware that Hiei is the long-lost brother she's sought after for so long.
